Juice Box Problems (Buddy and Romeo's Version)
For some reason (beyond any reason we can figure), last week’s post was our most read post since we started this last February. So, rather than lurking in our doorway, why not subscribe?
Before we get into this week’s comics, we’ve been teasing and preparing our top 25 lists of Taylor Swift songs since August. Finally — it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Well, half of the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Frega’s list will come in a future post. Also, literally no one asked for this and no one has been waiting for it at all. We’re just doing it. The only reader of this Substack that I know of who even likes Taylor Swift is Real Buddy so I guess, as is the case with just about everything, he’s our audience.

What do you think? Do you agree with any of the placements (Fifteen being ranked at number 15 was truly an accident)? What are your favorite Taylor Swift songs?
It’s a little strange that I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since 2008 when Fearless was released and yet Buddy and Romeo never mention her and there are no strips about her music. Buddy and Romeo’s comic strip was published in the newspaper from 2015-2018, which is the Bleachella/Reputation period. Did you notice not a single song on my top 25 is from Reputation? She lost me with that album. Got me back with folklore.
Speaking of things none of you care about, can we talk about last week’s Gilmore Girls survey? Two people voted (again, fine because I don’t assume that there are many Gilmore Girls fans in our readership. But apparently there are two of you!) and you split the vote for Dean and Logan! Goodness gracious! We’re both firmly in the Jess camp. Dean was possessive and had rage issues — and he cheated on his wife! Logan was a shallow rich boy who just wanted Rory as arm candy. Jess was a rough bad boy but he was a reader (like Rory!) and he straightened out in the end. He always appreciated Rory’s intelligence, encouraged her, and wanted to know her thoughts. Hmm. Two votes for Jess from us, one for Dean, one for Logan. Agree to disagree.
Oh. Wanna read some comics? It’s been a pretty terrible week so how about some laughs about frustration and coping mechanisms? You know how I dealt with stress today? By spontaneously doing 10 consecutive Superman pushups. I’ve done two in my life. Both were a year or two ago each pushup was separated by about a week. I quit after 10 today because it’s not something you want to take a chance on when your form starts to get sloppy. What’s a Superman pushup?
Cool.
