Bring your friends!
Buddy attempting to do a pull up in an unreleased/unfinished animated short, which began production in 2019.
Those two drawings were done in January 2021.
Last week, our latest illustrated comedy piece was published in Slackjaw. Scenes from the CrossStitch Games is a parody of the CrossFit Games (which DiPerri actually enjoys watching even if he would never do it himself. Those infamous CrossFit “pullups” are absolutely foolish).
Have you read it yet? Please do! While you’re over there, also clap for it (they do “claps” instead of “likes” over there, just because I guess), leave a comment, and highlight your favorite lines! Doing so feeds the algorithm and gets the work out in front of more people, which in turn helps us!
If you haven’t met the CrossStitch Games athletes, here are a few of them.
The girl in pencil on the far right didn’t make the cut. We both loved that drawing but the appearance didn’t match the personality described in the writing. Most of the athletes were based on sketches DiPerri did of fairgoers when he was between customers during his days as a caricaturist. These sketches were from circa 2010.
The guy in the top left made it! He’s in the CrossStitch Games!
Good luck, Norman. Who will win? Read Scenes from the CrossStitch Games here and then come back and vote!
