For years, we’ve illustrated how desperate Buddy and Romeo are for a date. They’ll do anything. As it turns out, perhaps the only ones more desperate for a date than Buddy and Romeo — are their creators.
Frega and DiPerri need to go out on a date. Immediately.
But first, we need a team of babysitters.
THIS WEEK:
Calling home; hurrying home
BEHIND THE PAYWALL: Romeo calls his parents
Summer is upon us! With our teaching duties nearing an end for another school year, we’re looking forward to a different pace. Gardening, the beach, some personal art and personal reading; and of course, lots of family adventures.
Perhaps even — gasp — a date! Lots of dates! Weekly dates? Dare to dream! Can you imagine?? We’d settle for one.
Our best babysitters (only babysitters) are our parents. We often feel like we can’t leave the house without all hands on deck. There’s a lot of energy, activity, and emotion to oversee. In the past, we’ve gotten a call or two that it was time for us to come home…
I think we’re only a phone call away from our next date. I just need to pick up the phone and get it approved.
Frega loves Ulta. Maybe I’ll bring her there.
Hold on… we’re on the phone…it’s Romeo’s parents…
In case you’re new here, this summer, DiPerri is sewing individually handmade Buddy and Romeo stuffed toys.
These dolls will not be for sale. Rather, they will be exclusive to paid subscribers of this Substack.
If you want both a Buddy and a Romeo plush doll, please become a paid subscriber. It’s the only way to get them.
We hope you’ll consider becoming a paid subscriber today to give your very own Buddy and Romeo stuffed toys a home.
If you’re already a paid subscriber, thank you. Your orders are in place. Stay tuned as the toys are brought to life and we chronicle DiPerri’s sewing adventures this summer.
