This week’s comic selections were chosen thanks to a question from a subscriber who also happens to be reader from the original newspaper run:

“I remember in some strips that Buddy and Romeo own a window washing business. Was that job decision inspired by anything?”

First, thank you for your question! Second, I can’t believe you remember they were window washers. Buddy attempted several other jobs in a desperate effort to afford rent while Romeo (strangely) didn’t. Aside from window washing and a brief stint as Buddy’s sidekick in the circus, Romeo apparently spent all of his time trying to find a date. Because there’s nothing a woman finds more attractive than a man with no job and no ambition! Also a man with no neck, shoulders, legs, or spine.
